Hi

I am sure this has happened to others but I forgot to take mxt last night. I don't think I have done this before and if I have I can't remember what I did. Should I take it tonight and then continue to take it on friday instead of thursday. Should I take it tonight then take it again next thursday leaving 6 days between or should I leave it this week and take again next thursday. What would you do?

Hi Sheila
I'm pretty sure you can take it one day later if you have to. Did you get a leaflet with the drug. I know I read about that on mine but I'm not at home so can't check.

Thank you all for your advice. I am still not sure what to do but think I am leaning towards taking it tonight and continuing on a friday.

I think your latest thought on this is probably wise, but I'd say a quick phone call to the nurse wouldn't hurt either, even if it's just to reassure you that you're doing the right thing. It wont take a minute and could put your mind at rest. It's what they are there for after all. Let us know what the outcome was as if I ever forget to take mine I can learn from your experience. Best wishes from Naomi.

Thanks Naomi. Good advice but it will probably be tuesday before I hear back from a nurse. May as well just do it. I can't see how it could be a problem.

Hello Sheila

I was told if you left your methotrexate off one week it wont actually make that much difference. So if you decided just to wait next week it will be ok.

But I know there have been times when I forgot to do my injection and would just do it the following night and then change to that day from then on.

It does make you go how the hell could I have forgotten to do it, but we are human lol.

Love
Belinda

Hi Sheila

I understand the usual advice is to take the next dose immediately you remember and then continue 7 days later with the next one. I have, in the past, reverted to my 'chosen' day after a couple of weeks ... it never seems to have made any difference as it stays in the system for such a long time anyway. The odd day is neither here nor there, it seems.

Hi Shelia
I had to delay my MTX injection for a day a couple of weeks ago due to some odd bruising. My GP checked bloods and said they were OK .He told me that you can take it up to 24 hrs late and it won't do any harm.I then continued the next week on my normal day ie 6 days after the previous one
Hope this helps
